Homemade Pizza Crust

I love pizza; the Hubs not so much. I rarely make it anymore and when I do it’s when he won’t normally be eating with us. He will eat this sometimes though and the crust is my favorite part! This is enough for about one pizza if using a cookie sheet.

1 pkg. Yeast

1 c. Warm water

1 1/2 t. Sugar

1/4 c. Parmesan Cheese

1/2 t. Basil

1/2 t. Oregano

1/2 t. Garlic Powder

Salt and Pepper to taste

2 1/2-3 C. Flour

Put the yeast and sugar in the warm water and let rise (The sugar helps the yeast rise faster because it gives it something to eat). I let mine rise at least a half hour. Next add all the spices and the flour (in small increments). You can mix it up a bit and put a cup of whole wheat flour and two cups of white flour. Mix and kneed until a nice elastic dough is formed. You may need more flour; don’t be timid to add more as needed. Let it rise one more time just to give it a nice texture.

Roll out onto a cookie sheet. Top with red sauce and your favorite toppings.

For fun variations use Cesar or ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, or buffalo wing sauce as your base and add chicken and veggies with cheddar cheese as your toppings; or experiment with anything in your kitchen. Yum!
