Grandma’s Sloppy Joes

For the past two years for Charlotte’s birthday we’ve served my Grandma’s Sloppy Joes. I find it funny that she does not even remember giving me this recipe; and she’s with it so who knows where the slip comes from. I really need to make this more often but it’s one of those great recipes I forget about all to often. It works great as a crockpot recipe or on the stove. Please note that I come from a big family so it makes quite a bit.

2 lbs. Hamburger

1 c. Ketchup

1/2 t Chili Powder

1 t Cinnamon

2 T Brown Sugar

1 T Worcestershire

1/2 c. Vinegar

1 1/2 c. Beef stock (or 1 1/2 c. water and 2 beef boullion cubes)

1 minced onion

Celery, Salt and Pepper to taste

Brown hamburger then transfer to crockpot. Add all the other ingredients and set on low. Let simmer for a few hours.

I like to these on a whole wheat bun but to each their own!
