Taking an Unplanned Break

In Musings on July 9, 2013 at 9:37 am

Well I haven’t been able to post because we went on vacation. It was a great time and we were able to go to two National Military Parks and three National Parks in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. All in all it was a great trip! The bad thing is I started having bad headaches while out there.

These headaches have continued since we’ve been home. Unfortunately these headaches are not conducive to the creative process and I haven’t been able to work on my projects. I hope that this will be a temporary thing and that I’ll be back to crafting in no time! Until then keep sending me you’re amazing projects and ideas and;

Happy Crafting!

Charlotte surpriseWow! What an amazing year it has been. Thank you for all of you that have tuned in for the journey and all the crazy things we’ve done, made, and eaten this past year. I have learned so much and have been able to really grow in different crafty areas. Here’s to another year and one hundred more posts!

Feb. 6th 2013 Sunset

We have been seeing some of the most beautiful sunsets lately here in St. Louis. I had to share at least one of them! This was from Feb. 6th, 2013. Nights like this I love to just sit and enjoy the beauty.

Side note: This has not been photoshopped nor colors enchanted in anyway.

We’ve had some rough days. I’m not sure what’s going on with Charlotte but it is not pretty. This morning I had more than I could take and I went to kitchen to start on a new project. I’ve been working on Christmas presents for months and I’ve been excited to start something just for fun.

So I left Charlotte in the living room to watch PBS, Adelaide sleeping contentedly in her crib and started something for me. I want a facinator hat and the only way to get a good one in the states is to make it yourself. I was standing there forming the hat structure and enjoying the peace. Peace. I could feel my body relax with each piece of newspaper I put into place.

That is why I do my crafts; for the calming effect they have on me. While I do enjoy creating things and using my creativity, I love the calm and serene place my mind goes as I work on something with no time limit. After 15 minutes of work this morning I felt that I could restart the day more successfully, and I did.

Thank you Lord for Momma timeouts. They are the only thing keeping me sane these days.
