Vertical Bead Quiet Book Page

In For a Kiddo, Quiet Book, Sewing on June 6, 2012 at 12:00 pm

After seeing how much the girls loved the abacus-inspired page  I decided that another bead page was in order. I basically did the exact same thing but had the yarn vertical instead of horizontal. It turned out pretty well and now we have two pages of bead fun!

Happy Crafting!

Tree Quiet Book Page

This was a super easy and fun page! The birds were cut from a fabric I already had laying around. The leaves are a super soft satin and I have a mid-weight pellon for the backing. I know it’s hard to see the birds because the leaves don’t stay up on their own very well but I think you can get a good idea!

Velcro Flower Quiet Book Page

The first quiet book page I did ended up being a flop when it came to Charlotte being able to play with it (See Here).  I didn’t want to completely abandon the flower page idea because I loved it so much! This time I went with four hearts to make up the petals and one giant flower. Charlotte loves this page! She is able to work the Velcro without an issue and has fun putting the petals in different spots. She has yet to realize that the flower pot will store the petals when she doesn’t want them on the flower but I figure that’s a moot point.

“Paper” Doll Quiet Book Page

I found this template on this great blog: Serving Pink Lemonade: Quiet Book Templates. I used regular felt for the body and glued it onto the black fabric. The dresses are pellon with the fabric sewn on with zig zag stitching around the edges. I also did a basic straight stitch under the “bust line” for a empire waistline. I will most likely add a face and some hair at some point but right now Charlotte likes it just as much without the added frill.
