Fazoli’s Original Submarino Sandwich

I love these sandwiches from Fazoli’s.  They have been my favorite thing to order from there for years and I finally decieded to try and make them for myself.

Start with cibatta bread, cut it in half and its time to layer on the meat!
First layer: Pepperoni
Second layer: Hard Salami
Third Layer: Deli Ham
Forth Layer: Deli Turkey
Fifth Layer: Provolone Cheese ( I forgot to buy some so I used Provel cheese in this pic)
Sixth Layer: Italian Sausage

Now that you have all of your incredible layers it’s time to put your sandwiches in the oven to warm everything through and to melt the cheese.

Final layers: sliced tomatoes,  banana peppers, shredded lettuce and drizzled with red wine vinegar.

Serve warm and with a few napkins!

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Pasta Salad

Who doesn’t love a good pasta salad? I rarely make one because I honestly don’t think about it until it’s time to eat and by then it’s too late to make one.

Today I decided dinner would be sandwhiches and what goes better with a good sandwich than a good pasta salad? Since I had decided on dinner just after eating lunch, I had time to prep. I didn’t have a good recipe so I went on pinterest and found close to what I was wanting. Here is what I ended up with:

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Pasta Salad

1/2 box of pasta, cooked al dente and drained
6 slices of thick cut bacon, cooked and chopped
2/3 c. Frozen peas (because I guess you technically need a veggie)
1/2 block cheddar cheese,  thickly grated
1/2 c. Mayonnaise
1/2c. Sour Cream
1 T. Dried Parsley
1 T. Dill Weed
1 t. Dry mined onion
1 t. Garlic Powder
1 t. Onion Powder
1/2 t. Black Pepper
1/4 t. Salt

Mix mayonnaise, sour cream and spices for dressing.  Set aside to let the flavors set up.

Mix pasta, bacon, peas, cheese and dressing. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Annoucing Baby #3

I’ve been away for months now and this is the number one reason! Baby #3 should make his or her debut the early part of July this summer. We are very excited and can’t wait for the craziness that three amazing children will bring!

Birthday Cake Pancakes

Birthday PancakesI had seen this recipe in a bisquick ad and couldn’t wait to try it! Adelaide’s birthday was coming up soon so I had the perfect excuse. The kids love these pancakes and now I make them more than regular pancakes.

Birthday Cake Pancakes

1/2 c. Biscuit mix (whichever one is your favorite)

1/2 c. White cake mix

1/2 c. Milk

1/2 t. Vanilla extract

1 Egg

2 T Candy sprinkles

Preheat griddle to 350º and mix pancake ingredients together. Do not over mix, lumps are ok!  Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of batter onto griddle for each pancake. Flip *carefully* when pancakes have started to form bubbles; remove from griddle when underside has browned. Each side takes 1-2 minutes.

Glaze:

1 oz. Cream cheese, softened

1- 1 1/2 T Milk  (depending on how thick you want the glaze)

3/4 t Sugar

Whisk together cream cheese and sugar. Add milk slowly until you get the desired consistency. Serve over warm pancakes. Add a few more sprinkles if you wish as well!
